About Us
Meet your BoHo team! Learn a bit more about us, our building, and what we're all about!

At The Boreal House our mission is simple: We want to be your place.

The place you go when you have a good day, or a bad one. The place you come to hang out with friends, or to make some new ones. The place you feel most comfortable with your people.  The meaning of Boreal is "of the North."  Our intent is to serve you with good old fashioned Northern Minnesota Nice.

The Spirit Valley neighborhood in West Duluth features several historic bars clustered between Grand and Central avenues. The Boreal House will be located next to the Kom-on-Inn, which was established in 1936.

The Boreal House features 16 taps and offers a wide variety of local, state, and regional craft beers. The interior has a northwoods theme and a patio outside the front entrance! A selection of appetizers, nachos, and homemade dips round out our food menu, to keep you here for the long haul!

About Our Building:

The Boreal House found a home in Duluth's City Water and Light building, located in West Duluth.

Our brick building, covered in wonderful art deco details, is located at the corner of 57th and Grand Ave. in Duluth. Originally built in 1915 by Hugh McKenzie, the Boreal House has kept that vintage feel with touches on northwoods sprinkled on top.
